Holocaust Memorial Day
In order to remember the Holacaust Day and with the hope that nothing similar to this happens again, you can see the following video we have watched in class.
In it, footballers urge fans to 'stand together' against racism in Holocaust Memorial Day.
Global Classrooms 2019/2020
With
great enthusiasm, we write to tell you about another successful year of Global
Classrooms. Each of our 180 3°ESO students participated in the program, working
diligently and thoughtfully over the last three months towards solving some of
the most pressing issues in the world today.
As
representatives of some of the 193 countries of the United Nations, students
had to deliberate, debate, and collaborate on effective solutions to finding
the balance between economic growth and resource efficiency. This involved
understanding the ways in which both national and global economies function and
how they interact with the environment, researching and writing formal research
papers, communicating important findings and interests in a formal political
conference setting, and, last but not least, doing it all in English. It is no
small feat what these young delegates were able to create during their final
conferences at Antonio Machado. I was blown away not only by their ability to
conduct themselves in a formal way, but by their visible interest and
commitment to coming up with pragmatic and inclusive resolutions to this
important topic – congratulations to all for a job well-done!
I
am honored to report that ten of our students have advanced on to the second
stage of conferences for Global Classrooms after participating in a preliminary
conference with over a hundred other schools in the Community of Madrid. At the
end of February, they will be meeting once again with other selected students
to discuss the importance of women in STEM (science, technology, engineering,
mathematics) and ICT (information and communications technology). They have
been putting in an incredible amount of hard work so far, so we wish them the
best of luck as they represent their countries, and Alfredo Kraus, very
proudly.

nuevo tema: “Women in STEM and ICT” (Las mujeres en la ciencia, tecnología,
experiencia.

Halloween 2019
We have celebrated Halloween today with our 1st and 2nd ESO students. Our assistants have prepared some enjoyable activities for them and they have had a lot of fun, as you can see in the photos below.
The students have also participated in a Pumpkin Contest and below you will see the tour winners. All of them were great so congratulations to all the students who brought their masterpieces!👏👏👏🎃🎃🎃
Find below the video of a speaking pumpkin, awesome. A pity it didn't speak English (yet).
